Daycare Troubles
I was told today that my almost 4yo is on the verge of getting kicked out of daycare due to his behavior, and I'm not sure how to handle this with the daycare. For context, the behavior is usually meltdowns or tantrums, and they usually end with them sending him home.
He has been at the same daycare since he was an infant, and for the past year has been having behavior issues on and off at school, usually due to sleep regressions or life changes (he did not like his little brother lol). However, none of my conversations or meetings with the directors have led to this being said until today, when I told them I couldn't take him home from school due to an important job interview. I spent an hour at the school calming him down from a massive meltdown, and once he was fine he went to class and understood I would be back later.
When I picked him up today, I had a 30 minute conversation with the director where I was told that they couldn't have him acting up because he is disruptive to the staff. That the director can't have job interviews going on with a screaming child, that tours look bad with a screaming child, and that he can't have teachers walking out, which my son's teacher who started 1 week ago wants to do because of my son.
While he did discuss a little about how we need to find a solution to my son's behavior for when he starts kindergarten, I also feel like this is the end of my sons time there. This conversation really gave me no hope that they want to help my son through his problems, but rather get rid of the annoyance.
Idk how to approach this with the director, as I'm not a very confrontational person. This also worries me that they are dismissing what could be behavioral red flags I need to bring up to his doctor because they are just done with helping him.
Maybe this is more of just a rant, but if anyone's been through something similar I'd love to hear how you dealt with it. I'm at a complete loss.
