Switching from Tretinoin to Adapalene?

Has anybody switched from Tretinoin to Adapalene?

I’ve been using 0.05% Tretinoin cream (Retrieve) since January - and while it has cleared up my skin and improved my texture tremendously.. 11 months on and I’m still dealing with slight dryness and redness. I’ve tried different methods - applying a few times a week, applying everyday.. and I just can’t seem to find a system that my skin completely likes. I do have quite sensitive skin and a history of eczema and skin allergies from when I was younger - so I'm thinking maybe Tretinoin just isn't for me. Although I would love to stick with it for the proven anti-aging benefits, I’m considering switching to Adapalene due to the fact that Tretinoin still seems to be slightly irritating my skin and I know Adapalene is supposed to be a lot gentler - so I’m hoping to keep getting similar results but with less irritation, basically. Has anybody successfully switched from Tretinoin to Adapalene for similar reasons? Any inputs, experiences or advice would be much appreciated. ☺️

My routine, if relevant, is as follows:

AM:

Splash with water

CosRX Snail Mucin

Soon Jung 2x Intensive Barrier Cream

Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk

PM:

Garnier 2 in 1 Clean Sensitive (to remove eye makeup - I’ve put a halt on wearing foundation)

La Roche Posay Caring Wash

CosRX Snail Mucin

Soon Jung 2x Intensive Barrier Cream

Wait 30 minutes, apply Tretinoin (currently applying nightly)
