Can I get an EV tariff without owning an EV
As you may know, I have a 56kwh ESS and 15kw of solar panels. I've recently had a smart meter installed, so I can take advantage of off peak rate battery charging. I'm with Scottish power, and they do a very attractive EV tariff of only 7.1p per kwh between midnight and 5am which is more than enough time to charge my batteries to 50% (leaving room for solar charging the next day) However I dont yet own an EV due to my budget. I did phone Scottish power to ask of I can get an EV tariff, but because I was talking to an Indian with a Scottish, Indian mix accent I could nearly understand, it did however sound like he said yes I can have an EV tariff without an EV, but I'm not sure if he even understood me, so I'm none the wiser.
Any ideas if I can?
