Don't you think some eateries are just overhyped in Varanasi by influencers?
I came across some youtube videos about famous food spots in Varanasi. The suggestions included:
1. Kashi Chat Bhandar
2. The Ram Chat Bhandar
3. Shreeji Sweets for Malayio
4. Pehlwan Lassi
5. Pizzeria Vatica Cafe
and a few others.
Honestly, I didn’t find anything special in these places. People are overcrowding them based on influencer videos. When places get too crowded, the owners often compromise on food quality because they’re rushing to prepare everything quickly.
I compared a lot of these with food from regular roadside vendors and restaurants, and many of them tasted the same. But people still flock to these places just because influencers recommend them. Don’t you think we could find equally good food at any clean and decent random shop instead?
Plus, if we spend money at different places, more people can earn instead of a handful of sellers getting all the business. I noticed so many shops in Varanasi with barely any customers.
