How much should all this *really* cost??
I haven't done this before and since I know this will be the only wedding I plan, I want it to be special. I'm 25 and my fiancé and I are trying to stay on somewhat of a budget. At first we were thinking we could keep the venue cost to about $2,000 but my dream wedding and realism got in the way. I am obviously not bashing anyone who wants a cheaper venue, but I just can't see myself getting married in a public park and we found a venue that's about 6k and includes a ton of stuff. We found a caterer that seems very cooperative, but their f&b minimum is 5k. We're planning on having 23 guests + the two of us, and I just feel like that's a lot of money.
But like I said, I have NO clue. I've done some googling and it seems like in general, both those prices aren't that bad. I've seen others that do weddings of 25 for 2k. I don't know HOW people get it that low, or if the prices I'm being quoted are reasonable. I know there's some level of sacrifice if I want the price to be lower, and that's fine. But I'm trying to get a handle on what prices I *should* expect if we want to have a wedding for a half day in a large city. Is under 13k for venue, food, photographer (everything inside the venue) ""reasonable""? We're not big spenders so I'm balking a bit haha. Any reassurance would be appreciated!
