Honda Civic Sport Hybrid or Subaru Impreza RS

The price in my area will be basically the exact same for both.

I like the looks of the Impreza a lot more, inside and out. It seems like the Civic performs better than the Impreza, but the Impreza might handle better with the AWD (although AWD is something I like, I’m not sure how useful it is since I live in California. But hey, when it rains here it pours).

The Impreza is going to have a much better warranty. Lifetime powertrain warranty vs about 5 years on the Honda (powertrain, the main thing I care about).

Financing isn’t an issue, as I will be trading in a car I inherited that would completely cover the cost of both vehicles (and hopefully leave me with a couple extra grand in my bank account).

What are some other major differences that I should consider? How is resale value gonna be in a few years? Honda is reliable, but is the short warranty still a dealbreaker? Etc.
