Water bird in Roatan Honduras

Hey all,

Having trouble googling to find a bird I saw. It was roughly the size of a seagull with black and white zig zags like the picture shows. Only remember three “zags” per wing. Either two white with a black in the middle or two black with a white in the middle. Was near mangroves flying past me.

Help me ID this bird!
