Aspen & Pine in Colorado

Hey all, new woodstove owner here and have a question about seasoned firewood. We’ve recently cut down a few dead/dying trees on our property and when I test the wood splits with a moisture meter most of the wood is right around 15% with some pieces reading as low as 10%. Is there still a need to season for a period of time or is wood good to go as long as it is in the right moisture range? Assume the dry climate here and the trees being mostly dead accelerated the process?
