i don't know if my characters should end up together or not
I have started the second arc of my story but i don't know if two friends in my mc group should end up in a relationship or not.
Since i started writing the whole story I shipped them and moved almost the whole plot around them to develop their personality and their character arc. However, I believe the trope "friends to lovers" is overused and probably a more realistic (and mature, probably?) idea would be one rejecting the other and doing so strengthening their bond as friends.
The idea is something like this: The characters (A and B) met eachother during the apocalypse. After the events of the first arc, they both lost their love interest (gf and bf) and have a stronger bond because they are united by pain. However, after some time, A mistakens B's affection as flirting and, wanting to fill up the void left by the previous relationship, tries to take the friendship to the next level (B is clueless about the whole thing and discovers it too late)
what do you think?
