What is Kinect used for?

Hello everyone,

I finnaly bought xbox last week. I have been wanting one since it came out. And I am having an amazing time with it.

I remembered the existance of Kinect and it can be bought for cheap, like 20 eur. So my question is what is it really used for? I get what it does but what is it implementation in games and would you recommand it?

P.S. If you guys have any ideas for game recommandations, not Kinect related, I would appreciate it.
