Has anyone else experienced their period cramps get worse since they've starting exercising?

I've always heard that exercise helps with relieving cramps, but ever since I started going to the gym regularly (~3x a week since late January) and I feel as though my cramps have gotten significantly worse. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

To clarify, I'm not asking for medical advice. I just want to know if others have had this happen because, as far as I know, this is the opposite of what's expected to happen.
