In an era where you got only 2000 life points, and there were no direct attacks, you could’ve beaten Pegasus with his eye if you had 3 copies of these cards in your deck. Big boss monsters like Blue Eyes Ultimate, Thousand Eyes Restrict, anime Toon Monsters, wont mean much against burn effect cards.
