Hebbal Junction Catastrophe 05 Jan 2025

Got absolutely obliterated on Sunday morning. My brother and I were on our 2 wheeler (Honda Dio) on our way to the church (Bethel AG) near Hebbal. We were in the signal (Before the left towards airport road), as it turned green I started moving.

A Toyota Fortuner guy, jumped his signal on the opposite side and in order to avoid traffic took the wrong way and came on the one way opposite direction. Since the metro work was going and the pillars are only half raised along with the demolition work of one part of the flyover, there's just too much happening there with lots of tall barricades. These barricades and the half erected pillars obstructed my view and i barely saw the car until it was too late as he was behind the barricades and the same with him. He barely saw us from the other side.

Since we both had just left from the signal we were not at higher speeds (30-40kmph for us and maybe 50-60kmph the car guy), but still i barely had anytime to react as i only saw the car when he appeared out of no where. My front wheel went and got stuck between his bumper and left front wheel due to which our vehicle got flung and slammed into the car. My brother got thrown off and thankfully he was saved, nothing happened to him. I got jammed in between the bike and car as I was trying to avoid crashing into him till the last second.

My legs are f*cked. So is my back and shoulder. The car was being driven my a driver and the owner along with his son were in the back seat. Owner was decent enough to compensate for medical expenses and vehicle damage knowing it's absolutely his mistake. Now I'm on bed rest for rest of the week and can slowly start feeling pain in different parts of the body.
