“I’m going to break you in half if I have to come up there!”

Generation X, born between 1961 and 1981 (or more narrowly, 1965 and 1980), came of age between analogue childhoods and digital adulthoods. Recognised globally, we’re the disaffected, eye-rolling middle children of history, raised by wolves, feral, fuelled by cynicism, and still showing up. This subreddit is for Gen X by Gen X, sharing memories, stories, nostalgia, humour, photos, and commentary, because, whatever, someone has to remember it all.

Why is it that on the day I finally get around to trimming my fingernails, that's the day I have to pick up a dime or a guitar pick off the floor, get a key off of a key ring, and peel a sticker off a smooth surface?

My Frontier internet has been down since yesterday. I waited around all afternoon for a tech. They were a no show. They canceled my trouble ticket today and didn't tell me. No text. No call.

Blinded by those ultra-bright low beams? Join the club. It's not just aftermarket bulbs and misalignment: most new OEM lights pose a threat. Excessively bright headlights impair the vision and visibility of other road users whenever the offending vehicle's front end becomes elevated and in various weather conditions, regardless of correct alignment and origin. While these are contributing factors, they distract from our real need: regulations on brightness/intensity.
