Builder ordered windows without asking us about colors. Says supplier won’t take them back. What are our options?

Yes that's smart. It got like that with me when I worked in construction. Homeowners are very savvy and very good at trying to get the contractor to pay for any upgrades or extra work that wasn't included. In this situation I would think the contract likely specified vinyl windows which would imply white, as anything else would mean more cost, less options, could push the build date way back, and if there is any accident, such as one of them getting broken, can expect a lengthy time to special order and install, all of which means more cost, and even 5 or 10 years that spacial order window may not be made anymore.

Your response is very disingenuous and hostile IMO. You asked for opinions. You would have needed to specify the custom window and specific color you wanted way before the house was being built. That's why you are tuning to social media now. I agree with the builder. If you want custom color you will need to pay for it.

You would have a point if we would have discussed the windows interior colors at any point in the process. Are you a builder? Do you routinely just make appearance choices on $60k worth of product without any input or confirmation from your customer?
