Don't believe them. Don't trust them. If Kirk Drift is dying, let it die!

I'm so grateful that grew up with the original Star Trek. The messages, the ideas are still VERY relevant and aged amazingly well. TOS (and the other shows) influenced how I see many issues as an adult. I'm glad many of these writers stood for the right things.

Captain Kirk's pop culture reputation VS actual plots of Star Trek episodes... The 'Kirk Drift' is such horrible cultural disease!

The silly pop culture 'Kirk vs Picard', which ususally ends up in 'Kirk Drift' arguments make people forget how many similarities these classic literature nerds have. I would love to see a movie about just Kirk and Picard discussing their favourite poems.

Just a quote from one of my favourite episodes of Star Trek, 'Is There in Truth No Beauty?' from 1968... So poetic and beautiful. Sometimes, the quality of the dialogues are just beyond belief on this show.

The great love interests of James T. Kirk's life were not some green space babes, but intelligent, successful, independent, serious women.

Maybe it's an unpopular take, but I love 'The Empath', especially the amazing scene of the Kirk-Spock-McCoy trio sacrificing themselves for each other, the mysterious theatre-like sets and its beautiful soundtrack, 'Time Grows Short'.

Just a quote from one of my most favourite episodes of Star Trek, 'Is There in Truth No Beauty?'... Sometimes, the level of the writing quality, the dialogues are just beyond belief. I wish current Trek could have lines half as poetic and beautiful as these were.

"Knock it off, Sawbones!" I never understood was the origin of McCoy's nickname was retconned in the 2009 reboot, that all his ex-wife left him was bones. Was it because people didn't know sawbones meant a doctor? The original is more logical in a world without money.

Star Trek TOS: "The Cloud Minders" is probably my favourite science fiction story about oppression and class. A brilliantly written idea with such a strong message. Maybe it's not one of the usually praised episodes, but it's in my personal top 10.

Do you think there is a significant difference between the character of TV Picard and Movie Picard, or between TV Kirk and Movie Kirk, or are they just in completely different situations and that's it?
