An answer for “Why are break ups known to be much worse in bpd/npd relationship?”. But I think this response generally applies to why being discarded by an abuser or a narcissist is more painful than a usual breakup. I have BPD and it seems like my ex had NPD. He was my “favorite person” sadly.
