Update on the rod knock on the RB25de. got my oil filter cut open. Feels like I've just diagnosed my car with cancer.

These cold and flu tablets, but the "day" tablets are blue and the "night" tablets are red, even though the box implies the other way around.

Car has a knocking sound, suspected rod knock by mechanic, paid him $80 to listen to it, got it towed home and he told me to dump the oil and check the filter for metal flakes, found none, he told me I need to cut the filter open. Am I crazy to think its very unlikely it's a rod atp
