No indie dev cares about DRM support, if you're not using denuvo, your game will be cracked on release day anyway (if it's popular enough). Steam's DRM can be cracked by anyone, you just need to replace a dll file.

I guess the need for DRM depends on the type. For some plot-focused indie games, getting cracked fast can be fatal. It's not about making it uncrackable, but about giving our work a fair chance to succeed. Even a short delay in cracking can protect the critical launch period.
