Is purging before a colonoscopy comparable to diarrhea or more extreme? I'm not afraid, but I can adjust to it. Can you roughly compare it with having diarrhea or is it quicker but more extreme during a colonoscopy?

My Dad who’s 70 had 4 benign polyps removed earlier ranging from 2-4mm. I am a 25 year old male. Should I be concerned about this and or get myself checked out?
Are we getting colonoscopy because it is a recommended test over 45…. Or because symptoms… or because we’re scared to be ill with something?
